Coronavirus Safety Procedures and Protocols

SAFETY PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOLS

COVID-19

We all have concerns for the health and safety of ourselves and our families, but we also understand that life continues on... and that includes your emergency dental care. So, we have instituted strict safety and sanitization protocols and procedures to keep us all protected while here at the office. Watch the video to learn more about what to expect at your next visit.

PUTTING SAFETY FIRST

Our Office Protocols

1

SCREENING: We will be screening at two different touch points. The first will be when we call to confirm the appointment and the second will be upon arrival  the office. We'll kindly ask about any flu-like symptoms and any travel or contact with anyone with cold or flu symptoms within the last 14 days. If the answer is "yes", we will go ahead and reschedule the appointment in order to prevent potential spread. Dr. Alex will be in contact with you via Teledentistry visit if needed and any medications can be sent directly to the pharmacy.

2

ENHANCED DISINFECTION PROTOCOL: New data from the New England Journal of Medicine has shown that viable COVID-19 does not survive past 72 hours on any surfaces (plastic, metal, cardboard). For this reason, we will be separating patient visits by 72 hours following any aerosolizing procedures. As always, every patient room will be thoroughly disinfected in a step-wise, detailed manner after each patient and disposable protective barriers will be discarded and replaced. In addition to this, we disinfect all common areas, door handles and door frames, pens, bathrooms, counters, tablets and hard surfaces before and after each patient with CDC approved cleaning products. We provide a UV cell phone sanitizer for staff and patient use as well as hand sanitizer stations around the office.

3

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURES: We will also be increasing our office staff protective equipment. Many times, this type of equipment can seem intimidating and a bit scary, but these are precautions we are taking for your safety and the safety of our staff and their families. Staff will be wearing masks when you enter the office and a Clean Bag will be provided for you to keep your personal belongings protected and safe during treatment. Once you are brought back to the treatment room, the staff will have more protective equipment to be put on. This will include a gown, a full face shield, surgical caps, gloves and an N95 mask. Treatment room doors will now be closed during procedures to prevent spread of aerosols as well. Following treatment, you will be escorted back out to the front door and Kathleen will contact you via phone for payment and follow up scheduling

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION

It is important to know that the risk of contracting this coronavirus is increasing in the United States. To help protect yourself against infection, be sure that you and your family members get flu vaccine, practice social distancing and wash hands frequently.
For tips on how to prepare at home and at work, the CDC has created very helpful fact sheets.
